Implants to replace missing teeth

In suitable patients missing teeth can be replaced without the need to wear a removable denture or grind down the adjacent teeth to place a bridge.  This is done by surgically implanting a pure titanium implant into the jaw bone and then fitting a natural looking porcelain crown on top of the implant.  This type of treatment is expensive and can take several visits over a period of months to complete, but gives a very natural looking result that is very reliable.  If you look after your implant correctly it should give many years good service.

The pre-operative radiograph showing the missing tooth. Radiograph of the implant and crown in place.  The screw retaining the crown abutment onto the implant fixture can clearly be seen.

The crown fitted on a laboratory implant analogue embedded into a plaster model of the patient's mouth

The access opening sealed with tooth coloured composite resin after final tightening of the retaining screw.
